Being a caregiver is hard work but our donors and volunteers have your back!
We are renovating the shopping area of our new building and will reopen VERY SOON to IN-PERSON shopping.
In the meantime, please SIGN UP HERE to receive an email when you can shop in person. We also draw a gift card every month if you have signed up!
Read the guidelines below for more information. We can't wait to see you!
In the Child Welfare System, you are eligible to shop if you are:
1. A foster parent licensed with DHHS or a private agency,
2. A parent who has adopted out of the foster system,
3. A Kinship or Relative Placement through CPS/DHHS with a subsidy or a CPS/court-ordered placement for each child - NOT voluntary guardianship.
4. A Youth currently in MYOI, Youth in Transition, Family Youth Interventions, or King House - Your caseworker must verify that you are in their program by emailing us at macombfostercloset@gmail.com
The current and legal placement of a child is REQUIRED before you can shop.
BIOLOGICAL PARENTS with CPS involvement are NOT allowed to shop.
A photo ID and your placement/adoption paperwork are REQUIRED every time you shop.
Detailed questions must be answered on our sign up link above.
You must show that you have children in your care to shop. We do not keep placement papers on file. Please do NOT plan to shop without your paperwork.
You are eligible to shop every 3-4 months unless you take a new placement or need something that we previously didn't have.
If you have shopped here before, please bring your IKEA bag with you.
If you have taken an emergency placement and need items before our next open hours, we can help. Please send us a Facebook message or email and one of our Rapid Response volunteers will open just for you. Please have your placement paperwork showing that you just took a placement.
The current and legal placement of a child is required BEFORE you can shop.
