State of Michigan $500,000 Grant Received

In February 2024, the State of Michigan recognized our work with a Community Center grant. These funds will allow the Macomb Foster Closet to complete a significant renovation project creating a community center for foster, adoptive, and kinship families.

Macomb Foster Closet Release

Year-round programs will strengthen the physical, emotional, and mental health needs of children to improve the wellness of foster, adoptive, and kinship families.

Activities will increase from clothing, Easter, Christmas, and Back-to-School events to monthly activities ranging from trainings, meetings, and other fun events.

We will help foster, adoptive, and kinship families access trauma-informed, community-based resources to meet the physical, emotional, and financial needs of children and caregivers. 

We know that the needs of caregivers vary and the resources needed can be unique to kids who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
